When transporting shipments to Poland, or in transit through Poland, customers may hear from the carrier about the need to issue a SENT.
The following are required to register in this system:
motor fuels and products of their processing, heating oils and lubricants that can be used as additives to motor fuels, undenatured ethyl alcohol with an alcohol concentration of 80 vol.% or more, products containing ethyl alcohol (ethyl alcohol-based antifreezes, thinners and solvents), ethyl alcohol, fully denatured, dried tobacco.
Please note that this list is not final, the Polish Ministry of Finance may determine an additional list of goods subject to registration in the SENT system.
The obligation to register goods in the SENT system rests with the carrier, and when exporting/importing to Poland, also with the consignor/consignee, respectively. For failure to fulfill these obligations, the carrier may pay a fine of 10,000 PLN, the driver – from 5,000 to 7,500 PLN.
